Awarded for an outstanding performance as the final sniper during a Patrol and removing six members of the opposition and therefore wining the game!

The Sheepshagger award is presented to all those who excel at sniping their prey and spending large ammounts of time alone in the wilderness, well it does get cold doesn't it!

May 8, 2005 Some pictures that I promised for the chaps Gavin

Here are a couple of pictures of the XM8 which is the new assault rifle family from Heckler & Koch. It is similar in design and concept to the G36 series that the Bundeswehr have adopted, and comes in a variety of sizes including the Kurz [fig 1] and the Support [fig 2] variants. This is meant to be a viable alternative for the US forces, instead of the OIWC which has also been designed and will be entering service within the next couple of years. Both are meant as a replacement for the Armalite M16/M4 series.

Now there is a conversion kit for Airsoft available as both of these pictures are of the real prototypes. The kit, like the real thing is based off the G36, using the same magazines. If anyone has any further information regarding the Airsoft version then please drop us a line, especially if you are aware of any plans for Marui or Classic Army to get this one in their catalogues!
May 7, 2005 Field Promotions Awarded DS HQ
After a lot of discussion and deliberation by the review board, and several beers later, the Commanding Officer presented the following promotions in the field.
2LT Cepten

Second Lieutenant (pronounced Left-tenant as we are not American))is the base officer rank within the team, and shows that the player has an aptitude for leadership, as well as crawling up peoples bottoms. The only privilege about being an officer in this mans army is that you don't get shouted at, rather asked forcefully to assault the bunker single handed!
C/Sgt Ivar
Colour Sergeant (Staff Sergeant in the technical branches) is one of the senior non-commissioned officers and they are a rare breed. They can normally shout a lot but not as much as a CSM and nowhere near as loud as the RSM. Their playing skills are first rate and they do not need to be told what to do (most of the time anyway!)

All promotions are assessed through game play, tactics & strategy, leadership ability and of course bothering to get out of bed and come and play!

The Green Flash [2nd Award]

 For continually achieving the missions even though he was ordered not to by his commanding officer.
If only all players were of this caliber!
Sebastian

Pistol Marksman [2nd Class]		 For laying down his arms and assaulting the objective with just his pistol in his hands. Sebastian managed to remove several of the opposition before taking a hit.

Any recommendations for outstanding achievement during the month of May should be forwarded to Das Spiel HQ before the 01 June 2005.

New website goes online

Well here we are again at the beginning of another exciting summer of gaming.

As you have probably noticed we have had a slight change to the site which we have been working on throughout the winter, but this is not just the only thing that has changed, The Playground is also under development (as ever!) and will continue to surprise all who have played before. If you haven't been to see us for a while than yo should definitely come along and see what is happening this summer.

There are also a number of projects that are under development such as our Online Store which will be up and running in the next couple of weeks so keep your eyes peeled for that. Others are tightly under wraps and I am not going to say anything yet and you will just have to wait - well you can't have everything straight away!

For those of you who like to look back over the previous Incursion reports from seasons 5 & 4 you will be able to here just follow the links below.

Our beloved Regimental Sergeant Major, Drew, has been busy on the world stage recruiting new players and has now formed his own team of miscreants, affectionately known as the Method Militia, as well as his own personal bodyguard of stunningly beautiful women 'Drew's Angels'. Believe me don't mess with these lovely ladies as they will love you to death!

The winter has also seen the emergence of a number of teams here in the Tirol who we are proud to stand along side such as the TGC and Legio Rapax, as well as forming contacts with other teams in Europe and the UK. This sport that we all love to play is growing from strength to strength, and let us keep it that way getting bigger and better.

Right that is enough of me for the first issue of season six, but do not forget that if you have any comments or articles that you want aired then send them to us and we will post them here for you, but please remember that obscene language will not be tolerated, I think that we are all above it.
